My Name is John Gallagher and I qualified as a piano technician in 1974.

I trained for three years at the Royal national college for the blind which was then situated in Shrewsbury. The college is now in Hereford.

After my three-year course, I passed the AEWVH exam with honours.

I started working for Crane and sons in 1974 with then a move to Wilson peck of Sheffield.

I am now self employed and I travel to Sheffield, Retford and The Cambridge pianola company in Ely.

I also work in my local area in Leeds.

I am in contact with piano dealers who sell, buy, hire and move pianos.
